Round off to the nearest inch for phone estimates only. I will always measure the window opening for you if you are ordering blinds through Rocky Mountain Design, Inc. Width is always first, followed by height. Custom blinds are generally measured to the 1/8 of an inch.
Custom blinds take 10 to 14 total days from order date to installation date. Rushes are available.
I can repair most anything related to blinds, shutters, and shades. Repairs can be done at my shop or I can come to your home or business. There is a $35 trip charge for mobile repair.
I have a free standing shop/showroom in the back yard of my home in Sandy.
Custom blinds are superior in quality, performance, fit, finish and longevity. Custom blinds and shades carry a limited lifetime warranty, work twice as well and look twice as good. Ready made or cut to measure products are generally throw away as you can not get parts if they break. The average life of a ready made blind is 3 to 5 years. Custom blinds last on average 15 or more years and can be serviced or repaired in most cases. The expense of a custom product is not that much more than ready made, yet it is 3 times the quality of the ready made product.
A 2″ horizontal PVC/Faux blind starts for as little as $54 for a 3 X 3 window opening, complete with a custom 3″ valance. Angled bottom rail for tight closure is also included. 2″ wood blinds have the same features and average 30% more in cost. Wood and PVC horizontal blinds are now available in 2 1/2" and 3" slat widths.
After 25+ years in the business I have sold most every type of window covering available on the market. If I do not, I can refer you to someone who does. I have samples of most blind and shade products and have access to a wide selection of fabric for drapes, pillows, and valances.
Vertical blinds are manufactured by Rocky Mountain Design, Inc. All other products are made by various vendors in and out of the state of Utah. All manufactures are hand picked by me depending on the product and the need of the client.
My prices meet or beat my competition because I have very low overhead expenses and I am a very efficient one man operation. Add in the fact that my operation is run with honesty and integrity.
All window coverings insulate to some degree. In the summer blocking the sun will surely stop heat gain and UV damage on furniture and flooring. In the winter all window coverings will provide an barrier between the cold glass and the inside of your home. But, the best overall product's for summer and winter insulation is the cellular/ honeycomb shades and Plantation Shutters.
Periodic vacuuming of shades or drapes and wiping slats with a damp cloth will keep your new window coverings like new. If they happen to get really dirty, most shades, vinyl and aluminum blinds can be soaked in the tub with a mild degreaser soap for a while. Scrub lightly with a soft brush or a sponge. Rinse, open shade or blind and drip dry over the tub. Wood blinds or shutters should not be soaked as the paint will peal. Wipe any wood products with a damp cloth, with or without soap. Do not get them to wet. Draperies should be left to professional and dry cleaning unless the fabric is machine washable.
I accept all types of credit cards. I do not offer any type of financing. All purchases require a 50% deposit and the balance due when the job is complete and the client is satisfied.
